When we developed our SUP DOWNWIND PRO range, we looked for maximum glide for easy take-offs. So we went for long, narrow boards. As well as working wonders for SUP foiling, we found that they also offered real advantages for wing foiling. Their glide facilitates take-offs and allows us to use reduced wing surfaces, even in light winds, while their narrow width and streamlined shape provide fantastic maneuverability, glide and comfort for such long, voluminous boards.

Little by little, we’ve been using the SUP DW boards in different wing foiling conditions, as well as in both light and strong winds. This inspired us to develop a range of wing foil boards sharing the characteristics of our SUP DWs, without the concessions made for a SUP practice. Hence, we designed boards with similar shapes but much less volume and reduced length: the ROCKET MIDLENGTH.

The F-ONE Rocket Mid Length board  is a new shape in the F-ONE collection, which is a hybrid between DW boards and the classic wing Foil board shape. This type of solution combines the best features of both designs, on the one hand the board starts very quickly thanks to the elongated shape, cut sides and increased buoyancy, and on the other hand it is very agile and handy.

The ROCKET MID LENGTH line  was developed by the F-ONE team while working on DW boards. Due to the needs of downwind sailing, the designs of boards of this type are narrow and long. It turned out that this type of board also has great properties when sailing on a wing, because it accelerates very quickly, which makes entering levitation easier and possible in weaker winds than on classic shapes. This type of shape also peels off the water surface more easily. Thanks to such features, you can sail in really weak winds, and additionally go down with the size of the wing.

The final shape of  the Rocket Mid Length  is shorter and less buoyant than the DW boards, which works great in wing foil. There is no compromise between a wing and a downwinder, this is a shape that works perfectly on inland spots and open reservoirs, where you can catch even the smallest waves. Additionally, the board is available in 4 sizes from 78L to 120L and their maneuverability is amazing compared to large wing foil boards. The shape of the  F-ONE Mid Length board gives much more fun and maneuverability than classic boards in large displacements.

The bottom has been designed to have the least possible resistance and to quickly bounce off the water during ducking. Special two cuts on the bottom significantly improve these features, and the relatively wide stern and its bend at the end properly drain water, which maximizes this effect.

The board construction is the well-known Bamboo Deck Construction technology from other F-ONE models. Bamboo is only on the deck side, which significantly reduces weight.

TWIN TRACKS

Parallel rails with a 90mm spacing are the standard mount in many companies, thanks to which the boards are compatible with most sets on the market. The length of the rails provides the ability to adjust the position of the mast in relation to the board, thanks to which we can move the foil more to the stern or to the bow and adjust the balance on the board.

FULL BAMBOO

Bamboo fibers are strong and lightweight. Using bamboo layers between glass fibers makes the board lighter and stronger.

BEVELED RAILS

The beveled edges in the foil board reduce the width of the bottom, without interfering with the deck surface. This solution reduces friction when floating on the water surface, which makes it much easier to enter levitation.

Lorsque nous avons développé notre gamme de SUP DOWNWIND PRO, nous cherchions à maximiser la glisse pour faciliter le take-off. Nous nous sommes donc orientés vers des planches longues et étroites. L’innovation principale dans le shape de la ROCKET MIDLENGTH réside dans l’ajout d’une deuxième petite marche au niveau du kick arrière, s’ajoutant à celle déjà présente devant les twin tracks comme sur nos SUP DW PRO. Full bamboo construction

Les fibres de bambou sont hautement résistantes et légères. La construction Full Bamboo utilise les propriétés naturelles du bambou placé entre les couches de fibres de verre pour constituer une enveloppe résistante, durable et légère pour la planche entière (pont et carène)

Double bamboo deck
