Technical Specifications

With the compact outline, the single concave remains the DNA of the MITU PRO models. Its unique shape helps the board start planing early, accelerate in an instant, and brings stability and predictability in all conditions.

The shape has been improved this year with lateral flat sections on the bottom, as well as a flat section on the bottom between your front and back foot to give directional stability. The rocker line allows a better edge control and an overall improved feeling in all conditions. Its distinct swallow tail makes it very easy to initiate turns and carve with.

Volume, stability, and float are perfectly balanced for a board which surfs better than ever before. It smooths out rough situations and makes you ride longer.

The MITU PRO FLEX is constructed using the HD Foam Flex Composite technology, with optimized flex for maximum reliability, comfort, and maneuverability. The mechanical characteristics achieved provide a lighter weight and a perfect surfboard feel.

Shock absorbers are placed under the pad to increase the board’s durability and provide extra comfort since they effectively absorb all impacts for the riders.

This range features five sizes and goes from 5’2 all the way to 5’10. The larger sizes have a bit more emphasis on the planing abilities and general stability, while the smaller sizes focus more on maneuverability. All share the same shape features, with their specific outline to make the most of the wave’s energy.

All sizes are equipped with a full pad and have deck inserts built-in so they can be equipped with foot straps. The 5’2 and 5’4 come with a set of F-ONE Flow Carbon XS fins. The 5’6, 5’8 and 5’10 come with a set of F-ONE Flow Carbon M fins.

The MITU PRO FLEX is available in 5 sizes from 5’2 to 5’10 and makes the most of its high-tech HD Foam Flex construction to offer the amazing Mitu shape that mimics the sensation of a traditional surfboard with incredible durability for unrivalled comfort and flow on the water.

With the compact outline, the single deep concave remains the DNA of the MITU PRO MODEL, it is this unique shape that helps the board get on the plane early, accelerate in an instant and give directional stability.

Comfort has been improved by a double concave in the front section making your ride smoother than ever. Travelling along the bottom of the board, the concave fades progressively towards the back where an increased kick in the tail rocker helps make the turns tight and effortless.

Combined with thin rails towards the rear, the fishtail offers the best combination between planing, stability, turning and pop.

This unique mix of planing, stability and manoeuvrability is what makes the MITU PRO MODELS so unique and versatile.

The largest sizes have a bit more emphasis on the planing ability and general stability, while the smaller sizes have more focus on manoeuvrability. All share the same shape features with their specific outline to make the most of the wave’s energy.

The MITU PRO FLEX uses the HD foam flex construction, where the ability of the board to flex has been emphasised, to provide outstanding comfort and a fantastic feeling on the wave. Built with HD foam of various densities, together with fibreglass and epoxy resin, this construction also features some deck stringers for more durability.

The shock absorbers are a unique feature on the market and provide the utmost level of comfort when combined with the full pad. The MITU PRO FLEX has some deck inserts built-in, so they can be equipped with foot straps. It comes with a thruster fin setup and a set of F-ONE FLOW RTM fins.

This year Mitu’s signature board is available in three constructions: Pro Carbon, ESL and the one we had on test, the Pro Flex. The board is shaped from a HD foam core and finished with epoxy resin in a brushed radiant yellow. This also makes it easy to pick out in the surf if it goes for an unscheduled wander. It’s a classic thruster fin set up with some stiff high end fins as standard on a rock solid futures box. We would class the board as mid weight, I’m guessing the carbon version would shed a little puppy fat but lose some of the flex…

Jumping on and heading out into some decent autumnal UK sideshore conditions, the initial thoughts were how silky everything feels underfoot. This year the signature channel in the front of the board has been sculpted into a subtler double concave, smoothing out chop and landings even more effectively than before. Couple this with the high flex HD foam core and it makes for a luxurious feeling ride.

Everything feels locked in and controlled, from a drawn out carve to a snappier top turn. Straight line speed is quick and the board can handle a large range of kite power. The tight fish tail with sharp rails at the rear provide considerable grip and control, even when overpowered. This tail design is popular as a kite shape now, and we’ve seen many boards based on this from custom manufacturers.

Whilst quite a short board, the Mitu at no point felt too small for me. There’s a lot of width and volume hidden in there and, from an upwind angle perspective, it performs like a far larger board. The deck pad setup is also worth a mention. First of all it has a finer, less aggressive EVA grip than most, which gives you a more positive feel on the board and no crampy feet after long usage. Then under that EVA pad there’s also a recessed deck with 5mm of extra shock absorbing foam. This will prevent heel denting from big landings and gives the knees a break when it’s choppy.

There’s also a little hump at the front to help you place your front foot quickly for aerials, and feel where your stance should be which is a really great touch. The riding speed you can generate naturally translates well into some big strapless airs from small kickers. Then the pronounced width in the middle of the board helps it grip to your feet in the wind, and all that extra foam recessed in the deck makes for a pleasant landing. Top marks for big punting.

The great thing about the Mitu is that it is an unashamedly ‘kite specific’ design, and not trying to ape surfing in any way shape or form. It builds itself around the mechanical differences between the sports and comes out shining. Like most products F-ONE produce it has a personality of its own, and this one is distinctly Cape Verdean.

F-One Mitu Pro Flex 2025 Surfboard

Allround Mitu Surfboard from F-One

The F-One Mitu Pro Flex 2025 is the daily driver for every directional kiter looking for fun, flow, and finesse on the water. Based on Mitu Monteiro’s legendary style, this surfboard continues to set the standard for allround performance in both waves and freestyle, year after year.

The F-One Mitu Pro Flex 2025 is playful, intuitive, and incredibly responsive. Whether you’re cruising through choppy water or carving smooth turns in clean swell – this board handles it all with style. The single concave bottom has long been the core of its design, offering early planing, instant acceleration, and a stable ride in any condition. New to this year’s model are the flat zones between your feet, offering extra directional stability at higher speeds and giving the board even more predictability.

The updated rocker line enhances control on the rail and enables tighter, more precise turns, while the iconic swallow tail cuts effortlessly through every carve. F-One’s HD Foam Flex construction is specially engineered to deliver the authentic surfboard feel with maximum durability. The result? A lightweight board with forgiving flex that smooths out impacts. Under your front foot, a built-in shock absorber helps dampen hard landings and adds that extra touch of comfort.

Whether you’re just getting into strapless riding or ready to push your freestyle tricks and carves to the next level, the F-One Mitu Pro Flex 2025 is a board that grows with you. With sizes ranging from 5’2 to 5’10, there’s a perfect fit for every style – from nimble and playful to stable and floaty. All sizes come equipped with a full deckpad and inserts for optional foot straps. The smaller sizes include F-One Flow Carbon XS fins, while the larger ones feature Carbon M fins.

The world’s most popular kitesurfing board is back, Mitu and the team at F-ONE really hit this shape out of the park all those years ago, and it has remained popular ever since. It’s a board that seemingly does the impossible, offer everything Mitu Monteiro needs to perform at the very highest levels of the sport, while still offering novice wave riders a forgiving, comfortable ride. It’s this winning formula that has made the board so popular.

This year there Mitu comes in three constructions, Carbon, lighter and aimed at the strapless freestyle market, the Pro Flex, which uses the HD Foam Flex technology to offer a smooth yet snappy ride and the Bamboo version which is heavier, but exceedingly durable. The construction also affects the price, the idea being there is a Mitu for every budget and every style of rider.
