The kite never surges in power if you throw it in the window; it simply allows you to kite smoothly in the right position and ride by feel. On the back of the profile, we have reduced the overtensions thanks to the staggered seams. The two vertical TECHNOFORCE 52 panels have been changed to one, and on sizes 8m² and smaller we developed a new TECHNOFORCE 66 panel. It is stronger and more resistant on elongation to offer a better control of the profile on smaller sizes for higher winds. On sizes of 9m² and above, we have kept the TECHNOFORCE 52 to guarantee lightness, as well as the two layers of TECHNOFORCE 52 canopy with staggered seams on the trailing edge. This all leads to more efficiency. Overall, this perfectly even canopy profile brings a greater sense of stability without feeling disturbances or the bar moving and leads to incredible performances in the high end. The struts’ reinforcements are now super sleek as well thanks to the Kevlar strip on the top. This improves the kite’s steering and maneuverability, reduces the aerodynamic disturbances, and decreases the overall weight of the kite once wet. Our 4 points connections bridle and two pulleys guarantees maneuverability and control in all conditions. The new, CNC-shaped, anodized aluminum low friction “pulleys” are super lightweight and increase the kite’s reactivity. They also raise the bridle’s resistance to abrasion and its overall durability. This kite brings an amazing handling and a super crisp steering response that delivers immediate reaction from inputs on the bar. This new STRIKE offers an unrivalled smoothness of traction that makes it possible to ride effortlessly, as if using a smaller, very light wing. The STRIKE’s control throughout the wind range is impressive, allowing you to easily handle gusts. For those who love speed, the wing provides a new “Going Forward” feeling that unlocks thanks to an impressive forward traction delivering fantastic horizontal acceleration. In the low end, it never seems to suffer from air holes or heading winds, maintaining a constant glide and exceptional upwind abilities. Thanks to its stiffness, accelerations, and massive pop and hangtime, the STRIKE will also have you hooked on freestyle. The central strut is now completely straight, which allows us to better control its deformation and possible twisting, while reducing drag. As a result, the infill is a bit lower and deforms less, and we’ve extended it almost all the way to the back. Our innovative Load Diffuser is reduced for weight gain, especially during freefly. We’ve also added dihedral angle to improve stability and keep the wingtips out of the water when pumping and riding. The new leading and trailing edge tensions as well as a refined radial cut help keep the profile smooth and stable for incredible performance and control. The accurate panel layout, precise load management and staggered seams continue to bring exceptional control of the profile, especially in the high end. The use of HITEX on the inflatable structure and TECHNOFORCE™ 52g and 66g on the canopy offer great resistance to elongation, and therefore greater durability and performances. The materials are also perfectly distributed to account for the different tensions, high pressures, and weight distribution in each specific area. Small radial cuts are implemented on the wingtips and on the back of the strut to spread tensions. Aligning the fibre exactly along the load paths means that stretch can be controlled to a never-before-seen level on a wing. Located on the back of the strut, our Load Diffuser made of overlapping panels of hard Mylar and Dacron further helps maintaining the profile sleek and efficient, leading to the ultimate stability, performances, and longevity. Thanks to this Sail Engineering and design work, the new STRIKE is an ideal compromise of performance, control, and smoothness. The wing feels stiff enough for any rider to perform and stay in control, but remains at the same time very progressive, offering a gentle and swift forward traction.
