New outline and design for improved performances

Thanks to the new outline, new shape of the wingtips as well as our patented Delta C-Shape, this fifth BREEZE offers an easier relaunch and increases accessibility in the low end.

The relaunch and reverse launch processes have been further simplified by reducing the aspect ratio and optimizing the outline. The new profile also guarantees natural upwind abilities and increased stability, even in the most difficult conditions.

The stability of the BREEZE at 12 has also been significantly improved, ensuring comfort in both light and strong winds. The kite’s repositioning in the wind window guarantees constant traction, facilitating take-offs in the low end and upwind tacks.

Most of the BREEZE’s inflatable structure remains in HITEX 158g. This high tenacity polyester offers great resistance to elongation and therefore greater durability and performances. The wingtips are made of Dacron 150g to guarantee lightness and comfort. The central strut is stiffer thanks to the use of HITEX, making it even easier to keep the kite’s shape and to relaunch if it falls in the water.

The kite’s canopy is now made of TECHNOFORCE™/D2 52g, and the trailing edge of the thicker TECHNOFORCE™/D2 66g. The materials are perfectly distributed to account for the different tensions, high pressures, and weight distribution in each specific area.

Finally, the addition of another Staggered Seams panel on the trailing edge minimizes deformations, ensuring an impeccable profile and maximum performance. We have optimized the fabric’s orientation towards tension as well to ensure a smooth transition between the two TECHNOFORCE materials.

Design and Construction

The F-One BREEZE is crafted with cutting-edge materials that prioritize durability and lightweight performance. The one-strut design significantly reduces the overall weight of the kite, allowing it to fly effortlessly in light wind conditions. This design choice not only enhances maneuverability but also provides stability, making it easier for riders to control their movements on the water.

Moreover, the BREEZE features a high aspect ratio, which contributes to its impressive upwind performance. This means that riders can travel against the wind with greater efficiency, allowing for longer sessions and more enjoyable rides. The kite’s construction also includes reinforced seams and a robust leading edge, ensuring that it can withstand the rigors of kitesurfing while maintaining its performance.

Staggered Seams were implemented on both the leading and trailing edges to make the entire profile amazingly sleek. The seam’s tension line is thus broken, which means the entire profile of the canopy is leveled when the kite is fully powered. We kept the fabric’s orientation towards tension as well.

The inflatable structure of the BREEZE V4 is made of HITEX 158g. This brand-new high tenacity polyester offers great resistance to elongation and therefore greater durability and performances.

This kite also features our new NANO canopy 55g. This innovative micro ripstop polyester is used on the entire canopy. It benefits from a NANO coating and a Plasma treatment process that brings an increased rigidity, resistance to elongation and tears, and durability.

These new fabrics and their placement on the kite allow a better control of the profile for a great stability and balance, but also extend its life.

The strut’ reinforcement is now super smooth as well thanks to the Kevlar strip on the top. This improves the kite’s steering and maneuverability, reduces the aerodynamic disturbances, and decreases the overall weight of the kite once wet.

It is no secret that F-ONE have been right at the fore of the hydrofoil game. Continuing their commitment to this discipline, they have developed a kite which is aimed firmly at this market. The Breeze is a single strut kite available in three sizes: 11, 13 and 15m and flies on the Monolith bar.

First impressions are: wow, there is nothing to this kite – you have to hunt for it in the bag! It is incredibly light with reduced reinforcements, and with the loss of weight and bulk that comes with only having one strut. The LE is then supported by a beefy bridle, with four attachment points and three pulleys per side. The tips are relatively wide and the graphics are similar in style to this year’s Bandit.

In the air the Breeze feels quite firm on the bar but keeps the same smooth direct feel that the Bandit has. We had the 13m and found that it would fly in about six knots of wind! Due to the weight and shape of the Breeze it sits at the zenith with incredible stability and has no signs of overflying, and this gave us plenty of confidence to get the Breeze out with a foil. The Breeze doesn’t have that initial low end power, but after a few power strokes its comes to life and generates smooth consistent pull and flies fast through the window.

The true beauty in the Breeze is that it can hold power so well and never feels like you lose control, it really does give you confidence… Many other lightwind or single strut kites tend to not have a great top in favor of more low end power, but we found that the Breeze would just keep on going. Depower was also impressive – again this can be less good on lightwind kites – and the wide tips mean that the Breeze also turns very smoothly.

Upwind performance was obviously very good when ridden with a hydrofoil, but we’d be confident that it would perform just as well with a twintip or a surfboard. We had a few crashes on the Breeze just to check how it would respond. It showed no signs of getting the center to lie flat and hinder relaunch and was also happy to backward relaunch which is a real asset for this style of kite.

Likes

The Breeze V4 stands out for its lighter and softer feel, maintaining stability and balance which makes it particularly enjoyable for foil riders. The turning is described as responsive, favoring an easy arc over a tight pivot, which aligns well with riders seeking smooth and controlled maneuvers rather than aggressive turns. The pivot turns are very low pull allowing the rider to transition on a foil quickly without the kite pulling the rider in an unwanted direction.

The use of new materials like HITEX 158g for the inflatable structure and NANO canopy 55g across the entire canopy enhances the kite’s resistance to elongation, durability, and overall performance. These materials contribute to the kite’s lightness and stability, improving steering, maneuverability, and reducing aerodynamic disturbances. The Breeze V4 is praised for its intuitive flight characteristics, allowing riders to focus on their ride rather than kite control, which benefits both beginners and advanced riders. The handling is fine-tuned across all sizes, ensuring responsiveness in larger sizes and optimized control in stronger winds for the smaller ones.

However, its versatility and stable performance in a wide range of conditions will likely appeal to a broad spectrum of riders.

Users

The F-ONE Breeze V4 is ideal for riders of all levels who are looking for a lightweight, user-friendly kite that excels in light wind conditions. Its stability and effortless control make it perfect for light-wind freeriding, wave riding, and especially foiling. Whether you are a beginner looking to improve your skills or an advanced rider seeking a reliable light-wind kite, the Breeze V4 offers a comprehensive solution that combines ease of use with high-end performance.
